Brass Bands Everywhere

These days there is a National Brass Band Festival in Trondheim and the city is filled with music and parades.

After walking around, listening to the music yesterday, we sat down at Den Gode Nabo for a pizza.
And from where we sat, on a fleet out in the river, we could watch young musicians on their way back to where they stayed. Time for a break.

Tosca in Olavshallen

Opera is not something you find every day in Trondheim. It is a special feast though when Trondheim Symphonic Orchestra invites to four nights with Torca.

 We went to see it on Saturday, the last of four full houses in Olavshallen, the Concert House of Trondheim.

Trondheim symfoniorkester will be playing Tosca in a couple of weeks. I've bought two tickets.

To celebrate my tickets I had a cappuccino at Latte Liten, a small coffeebar in Olavskvartalet.

I remember some years ago I played with the idea of writing a book about statues in Trondheim. I had read a book of statues somewhere else, don't remember where, and said to myself: Why not Trondheim? We might be small, we might  be humble, but why? There is so much to show, so much to be proud of.....

 

The statue of Arve Tellefsen, the violinist, is the newest we have in town, ony a few months old. Walking past, I can hear his violin creating art.

Music in the City

 

Music filled my ears when I came out from my office. My hands started to search for my small camera which I always bring with me. Nowhere! And I had to run back up the stairs to my office to search for it. Lucky for me the music. Now I have the camera to bring with me when we trave out of town this week-end.

 

Music in the city. What a treat. Lucily I came out again in time to watch, in time to listen.

 

The military band, Luftforsvarets Musikkorps, had invited people for a city walk. Oh, I wish I had known. I would have loved to walk with.......well, I am glad I didn't know. I couldn't have left work earlier anyway.
