During my stay in Florence in April I shared with you a post about a Sunday Art Market I visited, and some lovely, soft alpaca yarn I bought there. Now, with the jacket for Leander´s bunad finished, it was time for me to start knitting with this yarn. In the stand, together with the yarn, was a beautiful scarf. I photographed it and decided to make my own. The yarn I bought is thinner than the one used in the scarf, which will make it a thinner scarf, which is okay for me :-)
I started last night with a picture of the scarf on my computer, and my diary for counting and scetching.
Looking up at the picture, down at my journal. Trying to figure out how the scarf is made, discussing with myself if I wanted to do any changes.......
Casting on, starting to knit, realiaing that the yarn was much softer, much thinner than I thought, and therefore quite slippy on the needles. I lost stiches again and again, and several times I was unable to get them back corectly on the needles. Unraveling. Starting again. Unraveling. Starting again. Then I discovered I didn´t quite like the way I started. Unravel again. Starting again.
In the end I got it, and now the scarf is growing.......slowly :-)
