@brittarnhild
I unravelled the first trivet I made (thanks for help with the English word), and made a new one with photos as I knitted, to show you how I make it.
I casted eight stitches on the needle, and then knitted back and forth for as long as I had yarn.
I only had one skein of this yarn, so the trivet is still a bit small. I could probably have used two skeins.
Now it is time to sew the long ribbon (is that a correct word for this long knitted "thing"). I started in one end, folding the ribbon double, and slowly worked my way around and around, sewing it together on the back side.
The sewing took some time, but as Terje and I were watching an episode of The Crown, it was okay :-)
Here is the finished result. Cute, isn´t it :-) I plan to make many more over the coming months, and don´t tell my friends, but this will probably be found under a few Christmas trees next Christmas.
If you make one.......or many, I would love to see a picture. In the comment section here, or on facebook. Or in an email.
Good luck.
