We are back from three weeks in Italy (I have started to Italy-update my House in the Woods blog), and I am back to knitting after almost a month´s break. I did bring this grey knitting with me, first to Tuscany, then to Venezia and Murano, but never even opened the bag where I kept it. I had a hope it would be good for my fingers, and it was too hot to knit anyway. Now we are at the cabin, only for the weekend + an extra day, then I have to go back to work, and I am back to knitting. Still with protesting fingers, but I WANT TO KNIT, so I try to forget the pains. Well, I do knit only for short periods at a time, so hopefully I will manage. At least until I have finished this new sweater for my grandson.......
This pattern has been found in a Norwegian magazine. A lion sweater. A colleague of mine copied the pattern and gave it to me, knowing that it would be perfect for a little boy named Leander; Leander, which comes from leo and andros, means lion and man/boy, the lion boy :-)
A ready made pattern is not exactly my cup of tea. I look at it and at once start to make changes. you know, the "what if "kind of changes. I love the lion head border, but don´t like what is over the heads, and I find the body quite boring.
So here I am, trying to figure out a few changes. Making the design a little bit more "my own".
