More than 30 years ago I knitted this cardigan, in the traditional Norwegian pattern "fana". You can see more fanakofte pictures here.
I finished the cardigan but never bought buttons, and forgot it completly. When I made room for my new knitting studio this winter, I found it and put it on the dress form. There the girls found it and both of them wanted to have it. Marta´s arms are longer than mine, Ingrid´s are not, so she was the lucky "winner".
New buttons, in a Rose of Trondheim pattern, are purchased, and today I will give the fanakofte to my oldest daughter.
Wow 30,years ago and you still have it. And the girls still want it. That is truly amazing.

Such a great pattern. Love those buttons. Lucky daughter.....those Norwegians sweaters. (from Norwegian wool) seem to last forever. I have a 50 year old one that looks new. What I love about Norwegian wool is that is doesn't not pill, :)

What a great inheritance for Ingrid, I’m sure she will treasure it.
