@brittarnhild
I was out in the cold for too long today (more about why in Britt-Arnhild´s House in the Woods later), and after I came home it seems like I cant´t get warm enough. A fire is running in the fireplace, and I am wearing a lovely scarf I bought in Icelands some years ago.
I wrote a post about this wearable piece of art some years ago. Here it is:
If you come to Iceland by the summer ferry, you will reach land at Seydisfjördur. A tiny little fishing village, with colourful wooden houses sent from Norway as kits.
If you come in April, by car, you have to pass a mountain, fifty shades of white.
"Look for the blue church", my sister in law told us.
"It is so charming"
We did.
"And look for the little café" she continued.
We did!
And there we were served coffee by Rikey Kristjansdottir.
An artist, who makes the most wonderful wearable pieces of art.
Knitted scarves.
She had no scarves in Seydisfjordir, only pictures of them. As soon as I saw the pictures I knew that one of them was meant for me. Rikey told us that they were sold in Reykjavik, she gave us the address, and a few days later I was the proud owner of my wearable piece of art.

I will show you some more close up photos of this beautiful piece of art later. Tonight I am too cold.
Hope your delightful scarf did a good job in warming you up!

Landscape and scarves, everything is so beautiful. Wouldn't the blue church look lovely in a knit pattern? Maybe I'll practice charting it. Merry Christmas from the Pacific Northwest!
