I have been on a pilgrimage for two days with my colleagues. At our final destination we were met with a fantastic lunch, and then shown the little village museum. In there I found a box filled with hand knitted mittens.
There were dozens of them, all knitted by a 91 years old woman.
The cross in the middle of a four circled knot, is the pilgrim symbol in Norway. Isn´t it lovely the way it is knitted into the mitten?
I wonder if I can do this when I am 91.
Of course I had to buy a pair :-)
They are beautiful! Which colour did you buy? The violett ones?

Mittens are "my thing" so I appreciated those close ups. What a beautiful, meaningful pattern. I studied the decreases and thumb pattern. An 91 year old woman?…..I too wonder if I will be knitting when I'm knitting.

Although I can no longer hand sew as I did years ago I hope I can continue to knit for years to come. Seeing these beautiful mittens is inspiring, and I hope too that my needles continue to click should I reach such an age!
