I finished the body part of Leander´s bunad jacket last night. Now I am ready to start the sleeves, which will be much easier, as they are mostly read. What I really dread now is the cutting and sewing together part, which will come next weekend.
This weekend Terje and I are at our cabin, and before starting the first sleeve, I decided it was time for some other kind of knitting. My cabin knitting. Making cotton towels in all shades of blue and green. This si something I have been working on for many years. One colour. Five knit, five purl for seven rows. Then five purl over the knitted stiches, five knit over the purled stiches. Plain and simple.
I would call that a basket weave pattern. When I was a Brownie, about 9 years old I knitted some baby bootees using it for my Knitters badge...never forgotten it.

It is a very cute pattern Fran, and it makes sense that it is called a basket weave :-)
