Knitting on the train

Yesterday I took the train from Venice down to Florence, or from Venezia to Firenze as I like to say.......I can´t understand this need in English to kind of make new names for places :-) I came early to the station with my heavy suitcase, my backpack and my little purse. There is a very nice and quiet cafe just outside the station area. I got a table there and sat down with a cappuccino and my knitting. I am working on the bunad stockings for Leander now. I had originally planned to make them in plain knitting, which would have been fast and easy. But then I changed my mind and knit a traditional pattern for bunad stockings. This really takes much longer, so now I need to busy myself to get ready for May 17th.

Two hours of knitting on the train helped alot :-)

I am going up in the Tuscany hills (Toscana hills) later today, and tomorrow my retreat starts. There might be a blogging break for a few days.......

The first step is always the most exciting. I am sitting in a small hotel room, somewhere in Norway. I am knitting, and all of a sudden I knew it was time to start a knitting blog. Maskerade, masquerade, playing with words as maske is the Norwegian word for a knitted stich, rad is a row. Knitted stich in a row - maskerade.
