Can you remember the very first step of maskerade?
Here is what I wrote:
The first step is always the most exciting.
I am sitting in a small hotel room, somewhere in Norway. I am knitting, and all of a sudden I knew it was time to start a knitting blog.
Maskerade, masquerade, playing with words as maske is the Norwegian word for a knitted stich, rad is a row. Knitted stich in a row - maskerade.
I had no idea then where to put the next step, but almost a month has passed, and I am still here. Enjoying my knitting, enjoying my blogging, but most of all, enjoying my time with you, the readers.
I had just started on a tiny little Setesdal´s sweather for a newborn baby, little Martin, when I started the blog. I have not finished the sweather yet, but earlier this year I made a similar one for my grandson.
The Setesdal pattern is considered one of the world´s most knitted pattern, and the history is quite interesting. Instead of writing my own post about it, I found this very interesting site on internet, on ThorNews, a site with a lit of interesting facts, especially if you are interested in Norwegian culture.
After finishing the sweather for Leander, my grandson, I realized I had enough left over yarn for a pair of wrist warmers for myself. They soon became my favorites :-)

Have you ever tried the Setesdal pattern?
This looks way too hard for me! It is a beautiful pattern!

Start practicing with a simple two colour pattern Georgeanne, and move on from there :-)
By the way, I have a whole bunch og Easter egg bags now, will bring them with me to Italy as gifts.
