I have knitted socks for a very long time. When the colourful, bright and soft Regia yarn came, I got the first skeins from a friend in Germany and made regia socks long before the yarn came to Norway. I had a friend in The Norwegian Folk Art and Craft Institution/Norsk Husflid, she heard about my socks and she sent a journalist to Norway to write about them for the Norsk Husflid magazine; Apostlenes hester i frekk fargeprakt, the horses of the apostles in cheeky colour splendor (yahoo traslation ;-))
This same friend who sent me regia yarn also sent me the elegant transparent boots, perfect to show my sock collection.
The article tells a story I had completely forgotten untill I found the magazine and reread the article the other day - that I had a group on yahoo called Britt´s KnittingLoft. Remember this was before facebook and even before blogging. I tried to search up the group now but it must have been deleted. At least I was unable to find it.
After some time I started blogging, then facebook came, and instagram, and twitter, and snapchat.......and the last branch on my digital tree so far is WhatsApp.
Knitting socks is still a part of my life. For the moment I have two pairs on the needles, and three pairs which needs to have the loose ends done.
Seeing your socks were written about in a magazine I feel very proud to have two pairs you knitted in my wardrobe....and they are often worn too!
I usually have socks on the needles, the perfect knitting to take anywhere.
