Do I see a seashell on that wreath, for those who make pilgrimage to Santiago de Campostela in Spain?

Yes, it is St.Jacob (San Doago/Santiago's) shell, the symbol for pilgrims.

Fasinating pictures and words Britt Arnhild. I live in a city with 2 cathedrals and some 30 medieval churches (not all used as places of worship these days) so these ancient buildings are part of my urban and spiritual landscape
