My dad had an appointment at the hospital last night. I drove him there, but because of the pandemic I was obviously not allowed to come with him indoors. I knew about that and had packed my knitting and a book, planning to sit in the car while waiting.

The day had been cold and wet, but just as I left my father at the entrance door, the rain stopped.

This weather is perfect for a walk, I told myself, and off I went. First around the hospital park, then further on, to an area with old, beautiful villas.

I bought myself a new cell phone last week, with a very good camera, and of course I could not stop myself photographing a few of the charming houses.

I used to come here from time to time when I was young, now I have not walked these streets in decades.

As I walked around, enjoying the charm, shooting photos, my mind wandered to my House in the Woods. It is such a long, long time since I have taken you somewhere at all around my lovely hometown, Trondheim. And I took some extra photos.

So here I am, with some great photos for you. What do you think?
I might even open my blog Trondheim Through All Seasons again :-)

For some years I have had an account on instagram called TrondheimTales. When I opened it I connected it with my work email. Now, with this new cell phone, I am unable to get access to it, so I don't know what will happen. Probably it will just stay out there just as it is, with no new photos. I know I will miss posting Trondheim images, but I can always open something new. What about @trondheimhouses :-)

A few days ago I uploaded episode 18 in English on YouTube. I am so proud of it, my English is flowing better, the filming is so good with my new cell phone camera and the tales I tell are lovely to listen to (in my opinion, >blush>)

High Tide

We have had a few days with exceptionally high tide, and as I know you love to see images from Trondheim, I have been out to shoot a few photos for you. Luckily no damage was done.

 

 

 

 

Walking over to the dentist

While having afternoon coffee yesterday, I suddenly realised that a little piece of one of my teeth was missing. No hurting, no big damage, but still. First thing this morning I called my dentists office, and was lucky. I got an appointment after lunch.

With such short days we have for the moment, it felt like a blessing to be able to walk over from the Archbishop´s Palace, where I work, to the dentists office, making sure to take the most scenic walk, though the old part of our city.

Can you remember the years when I used to come here for a camera walk every Saturday morning? It is such a long time ago, may be it is time to go back to these photo walks?

What do you think? I know that more than one of you would like more Trondheim images, or what?

Walk to work

Some years ago, when Terje had another job, we used to drive together to his job, and from there I walked down to the city center and the Archbishop´s Palace. Then Terje got another job, with no parking space. He bought himself a new bicycle with special winter tyres and started to bike all year. I started to go by bus.

Today Terje had a car though, from his work, and I drove with him, and walked to my job.

The catholic church is new since last time I showed you pictures from this area. The old rose bush, which I remember from my childhood, is still there :-)

The beauty of the cold

It is really too colds for my liking these Sibirian Cold days.

I have no problem seeing the beauty though.

A walk in the wind

Two very long workdays in a row.
I had a short break this afternoon, around 4pm, and took a walk around the cathedral and down to the river.

Unfortunately, the wind stole most of my words.

A walk in old Trondheim

As soon as I started to think about and miss my Saturday morning photo walks, I knew it was time to start doing them again. The coming Saturday I´ll be out of town, so I took a break from work and did a walk this morning instead.

The old part of the city, Bakklandet, with its charming wooden buildings, is just over the river from the cathedral and the archbishop´s palace, so there is where I often go. A charming area with café´s, galleries, small shops and flowers everywhere.

As I walked, as I looked for spots to photograph, I was inspired to develop my Trondheims blogs again.......do you know that there are three of them :-)

Trondheim photos again?

Another week. Another early morning. Another day at work.
I left the bus three stops early today to have a nice walk to my office in the Archbishop´s Palace. On the bridge my attention was caught by the new St. Olav Catholic Church, which has been built just across the road for the Nidaros Cathedral.

While I stood there I suddenly missed my Saturday morning photo walks.
May be it is time to go back to them again.......
