Listening to opera is among my favorite ways of relaxion. For two years now I have focused on one special opera every month, and my co-listener has been my dear friend Gabi in Germany. We have changed sms and e-mails about the music, and also cds and dvds, and we have some of the same books where we can read about the operas and their stories.
This way I am building up a wonderful collection of sounds for my ears, I learn more Italian and I slowly learn more about operas.
For two years I've bought one new opera every month, unabrigded, with the librettos. But one month is a short time for one opera, so this year I plan to go back to those I already have, and relisten. And may be buy a couple of new ones as the year unfold. Der Rosenkavalier is on top of that list.
Right now I have Mozart's Don Giovanni on the cd-player, the opera Mozart composed for Prague. Terje and I saw the famous Prague Puppets Show performing Don Giovanni in July.
