Those of you who have followed me for some time know that I collect nativities. For many years it has been an advent tradition of mine to every day unwrap one nativity from where I keep them the rest of the year, and find a suitable place for it in the livingroom, the kitchen, my studio or anywhere else in our house. I do have more than 24 nativities, actiually a lot more, so on the day before Christmas Eve, the day we call lillejulagften, little Christmas Eve in Norway, I have unwrapped and displayed them all.
This year I am doing it differently. Next Friday and Saturday, the 11th and 12th of December, I will have an open house with a Nativity Exhibition. People will have to pay a fee to get in and all the monay will be given to HimalPartner, an organisation which works in Nepal. They do different work there, the money from the exhivition though will go to fight trafficking, and to support young raped and abused girls. I plan to share a few tales from Nepal, my dear mother will play the piano, my brother Torodd the viola, and I will serve lussekatter (some traditional sweet rolls).
You can read more about this at the facebook event here.
And of course, since I know that most of you will not be able to come in person, I will make sure to take photos and blog about it all.
