I am ready to start writing my Christmas cards.......almost. I have a big box filled with unused cards, collected over many years. The most recent ones I bought in London in October. While walking from Chelsea Physic Garden back to my hotel, I found an open church. Inside a choir and an orchestra were practicing Händel´s Messias and down near the entrance door there were dosens of tables stacked with Christmas cards sold for charity. I decided to forget about my full box at home and filled my bag with these cards. Now I can´t wait to open the packets and start writing.......but I am not going to do it untill I have the good news to tell. The birth of my grandchild.
The photo today shows some of the Christmas cards I have inherited from my dear grandma Olga. I have them displayed over the season as part of my advent and Christmas decorations. Do you, by the way, know that the very forst Christmas card was written in England in 1843. It had the words A Merry Christmas and A Happy New Year.
Do you keep up the Christmas card tradition?
