If you take a look in maskerade you will see that today I have finished a secret knitting project, a pair of wrist warmers, decorated with old buttons. After I finished the wrist warmers yesterday afternoon, I let Leander help me sorting the old buttons. Most of them inherited from my grandma Olga, Leanders great great-grandma.
AS we sat there my prayer was: dear God, let me be for Leander what grandma Olga was for me!

It was a break in the meeting. I rose from my chair and walked over to the window. Looking out, but too deep in my thoughts to see anything.......at first.
Then, after a while, my eyes focused. And I saw a crow.
A quite ordinary crow.
There are millions of them around.
Grey and black.
Usually you see them without seeing them. They are too ordinary.
Not today.
Today I saw the crow. I mean, I saw it, really SAW it.
And I saw how beautiful it is.

10 Days in Georgia almost finished.
On our way back home to Norway we have a few hours at the airport in Moskow. We have found a tiny little restaurant with wi-fi. Terje is working on his sudokus while I look though our photos.
I plan to do proper posts here about our trip, eventually. But today (or tonight rather, as we are in the middle of the night here), I have a bouquet of photos of Georgian people.
Some of the photos are taken through the bus window, some from far away and blown up. A few quite close. All of them shows the beauty of the human race and especially the People of Georgia.

I wish I could say that Mondays are my favorite days......YES! Another week!!
Well, it is not that the week ahead is something I dread, it is just that I have such wonderful weekends, I want them to last on and on and on. Especially the cabin weekends that is.
So I must confess that on Monday mornings there are periods when I sit looking out my office window, out into the cathedral park and graveyard. My eyes looking back on sweet moments during the weekend just passed, looking ahead to garden plans waiting to be done, travels waiting to me travelled, family and friends´moments to come.
Aftert a while my moment of dream is over, and I see what is going on outside my window. I see the ever changing park.

The taxidriver who drove me home from the airport this afternoon originally came from Ethiopia. He has lived in Norway in 9 years and spoke fluently Norwegian.
We spent the whole drive talking about Ethiopia, and the driver´s smile got broader and broader when he learned how much I actually know about his country. As I sat beside him, in the front seat, I couldn´t actually see his smile, but I heard it in his voice :-)
Now I long to go back to this amazing country, lovely people. If when I do, I will bring some ping pong stuff, to give away to all the youngsters playing along the road.

Dear reader
I have no account of all times I've heard "Venice, what is it about Venice other than millions of tourists, fake masks and glass from China? Why do you continue to go back there?"
My Venice, or my Venezia (why give the city another name as long as Venezia is the real one) is not at all like that. Well, some times I can't avoid the tourist streets, or the vaporetta during the rush hour. But as soon as possible I leave the boat, I take a "wrong" turn and I find myself in the middle of the real Venezia, the Venezia for Venetians. As soon as you do that, you will know what I am talking about when I tell you that Venezia, La Serenissima, has its very special place in my heart.
The last few days I've been counting golden moments
- lunch for two on a small table along a canal. He with a sketchbook and colours, making a painting of her while she read aloud for both of them from an old book in her lap. The food getting cold, but who cared
- the pure joy of two dog's first meeting of the day
- two empty spritz glasses
- the whistling of the glass workers across our canal
- four small girls playing in a campo while their parents chat
- me: Terje, why is our life so good? Terje: because it consists of you and me

I could hear their laughter a long way. A group of children were playing together outside the cathedral. I came closer and heard one of the kids saying to the others: "Come here! Look! I have something to show you! Can you see this stone? It is my charging point!"
I smiled as I continued my walk. Children of today, with electrical cars and digital devices everywhere, of course they know all about charging points.
My thoughts started to wander. I am so low of energhy these days. How can I find back my joy of life, my creativity, my energy to run around like a child? May be the best thing I can do is to search for my charging point?
My girls know about my mania for notebooks. When Marta was in Kenya she bought me a bright yellow one. I have had it on my desk since I got it, knowing that I want to use it for something special, not quite sure what. But now I know :-) It will be my "blink of an eue"- notebook, my charging point. Where I write down the small, too often unnoticed blink of an eyes during the day.
The charging point tale will ne first out.
And I am already looking for the next one.

I had lunch downtown with my mother yesterday. As we walked up the main shopping street we passed the accordion player, the man who always sits there on the same spot, playing such beautiful music. I stopped, found my purse, took out some coins and threw them into the box close to the musician. Our eyes met, and we both smiled.
as we continued our walk, my mother said: "It looked like the two of you know each other?" "Of course we do" I replied, "we exchange smiles.

I went to the most wonderful concert last night, Emma Kirkby singing, Jakob Lindberg playing the lute. The concert was in a small room, I guess we were around 150 people. I loved it. I went alone, and I mostly sat with my eyes closed, letting the music fill me. I left during the break though. There was too much strong perfume in the room. I got a headache, my sinuses protested wildly.
I came out to a dark, almost quiet city, where snow fell silently. I had half an hour to wait for my bus, so I walked around. I have lived in Trondheim more than 50 years. I know my city so well. Its nooks and corners, its open squares, its hidden secrets. Last night it all felt new.
I was sad because of the perfume which forced me to leave the concert. I was happy and thankful to walk in this beautiful city of mine at the late hour. The snow flakes took away the perfume still clinging to my hair, my face, my clothes. Emma Kirkby´s voice still filled my head.
I wish perfume could be banned.
I love the perfume of nature. Like the one flowing out from the forthysia in the picture. It was taken at our cabin a previous spring. Tomorrow we are heading for the cabin for the first time this year. I wonder what we will find, winter or spring.
