We are back on the Canary Island Tenerife.
For two weeks.

A Norwegian Snow Day

I woke up during the night, and when I looked out through the window, everything was covered in snow.

A few hours later we sat down for breakfast and heard in the news that no buses were running, the police warned us to go out driving. 

Well, my mother had a hospital appointment for X-rays, so we simply had to go out.

 

Good luck for us, Terje is a great driver, everything went well.

A snow day in Norway can stop things for an hour or two, never for a whole day.

A Sacred Place

Some days there are people in your life who need extra prayers.

What a blessing then to have an open church downtown where you can go in, lit a candle, be silent, say your prayers.

Nature´s pastel colours on the first day of 2025

2025 is here. Are we ready for it? To meet its joy and blessings, its pains and sorrows. To meet its dark days and its days filled with the bright colours of the rainbow.

While my husband and I did a hike in the woods yesterday, on the last day of 2024, I went down to the fjord today. To meet a day just as beautiful as yesterday. Icy cold though, but painted in such sweet pastels.

I did not walk far. I was too occupied to just stand still and watch the beauty, the washed colours of the sea, the sky, the snow, the trees. And a few birds.

Some years ago I did quite a lot of bird watching. I hope to do that again this year. To strengthen my awareness of nature.

Can you see which bird I photographed here? This is the male. I also have an image of the female. They swam together in the cold fjord, diving for food now and again.
