Grandchildren´s advent festival is over. A great success for all of us. Terje and I weren't even too exhausted when the kids left, <lol>
It is good to have a quiet day today though. Terje´s definition of a quiet day is to be in activity, so he is in the kitchen baking Christmas cookies. I have spent part of the morning reading, I have been out shopping Christmas bundles of grains fuglenek for the birds and I've been out in the greenhouse. It is too cold to spend much time there, but I still like to go there for a cup of tea and some decorating. I have an idea to show some of my nativities there this year. Make photos and share them in my flower instagram account, @brittarnhildsblomsterrom A few nativities can stay there over the seasons, but most of them I will bring back inside.
The one shown in the pictures is one I bought in Tenerife a couple of years ago. Made of clay, so simple and still with such an important story to tell. The Story.
Starting today I plan to show you one of my favourite Advent/Christmas book every day during the weeks leading up to Christmas.
So here is the first one, The Twelve Birds of Christmas, by Stephen Moss. I have many of Moss´books where he write the biography of birds. This one is different, since it contains 12 different birds , and as I read on the back cover; "Playing on one of our best-known carols, The Twelve Days of Christmas, naturalist Stephen Moss tells the enthralling story of twelve iconic British Birds"
As many of you know, I collect Twelve Birds of Christmas books, and this made a great addition to my collection.
What do you read over the seasons? I would love to hear from you.
