Winter break started in our part of Norway this weekend. Closed schools for a week. We don´t have a break from work just now, but as Terje´s brother and his family are up in the mountains, at their cabin near Røros, we decided to visit them for the weekend.
This winter continues to overflow us with lovely weather and more than enough snow for ski fun activities.
Take a look in the YouTube video to see more of our winter fun activities :-)
It is Mother´s Day in Norway today. One of Terje´s presents to me, the mother of his children, was to invite our kids and kids in law, Leander and my parents for dinner.
On YouTube this morning I posted a video of my mother playing the piano and I was hoping that she would play for us afgter the dinner today.
Of course she did. During the first piece I had Leander in my lap. He sat completely still, listening to the beautiful music. When the music stopped he slipped down to play with his cars. I looked up and saw my father watching my mother playing. More than 60 years of marriage.
Our son Øystein and daughter in law Silje are looking after a little dog for a few days. Today we all went out skiing. The winter we are having this year here in the middle of Norway for many, many years, with great conditions for cross country skiing week after week. I have nor skied much the last years, but now my joy of cross country skiing is coming back with full force.
When Øystein and Silje called yesterday, asking if wanted to go skiing this morning, it was easy to say yes.
If this continues, my 60th year will be my fittest year in a long time :-)
This year of turning 60, I have decided to do things I´ve never done before. Like cross country skiing out in the darkness, with a headlight. This is something Terje often does, but for me it was a new experience. Yes, I have been out skiing at night before, but then in tracks which had light.
It was magic, pure magic. Why have I not done this before?
