Tomorrow is December 1st.
It will be a different start of advent for me this year. I am in Reykjavik, Iceland, where my sister in law will have a 20th anniversary concert tonight. It is 20 years since her first cd.
The concert hall, Gamla Bio, The Old Cinema, is still empty, but ready to greet you a heartfelt and musical welcome.

By the way, the last few days two different photographers have contacted me to ask if they can come and photograph my nativities. Of course I said YES to both :-)

Advent is just around the corner. December 1st on Friday, first Sunday of advent two days later. I have put my thinking cap on to see if I come up with some great advent blogging ideas.......which resulted in the creation of a new advent blog, in Norwegian.

November, the darkest month of the year. Yes, I know of course that December is darker, but then we often have snow, and there are all the Christmas lights and candles. November only gets darker, and darker, and darker.
Daylight is important, and I try to spend as much time as possible outdoors. To savour the light. Leander spent Saturday and Sunday with us. I was out walking him in the pram after lunch on Sunday, to let him have his little nap. He fell asleep pretty fast, as he always does. I left him in the pram outside the livingroom window, and took a stroll in the garden.
The November garden is different from the summer garden.
But no doubt, it has its own charm.

I was in Oslo today, for a job meeting. Morning flight down. Afternoon flight back home. When the meeting was finished I had some time to stroll.
The city was crazy because of Black Friday.
I went over to my favourite flower shop.
To look.
To shower myself in beauty.
We have inherited Black Friday from the US.
But not Thanksgiving.
Why?
May be it is time to start a Lindland Thanksgiving tradition.......

Avery afternon, around 7pm, it is time for coffee in The House in the Woods. Then we have already had our dinner and the afternoon nap, we have done a few house chores and we are ready to sit down to watch the afternoon news on the television.
Today Marta came home and Terje was in charge of the coffee.

Every Wednesday at noon there is a mass in one of the small chapels in the cathedral. The mass is during lunch hour, so I eat the two pieces of bread in my lunchbox fast, and walk over to the cathedral. A hymn, prayers, reading from the Scripture, communion, silence, the blessing.
And then it is time to go back to work.
Or walk around in the cathedral for a while.
In prayers.
A dear friend is fighting cancer.
It looks like it is going to be a hard fight.
Please join me in prayers for my friend and his family.

While I was at work today, in one of the churches here in Trondheim, at a café for seniors, where I presented a powerpoint from our garden, Marta finished early at school and came home to The House in the Woods to do the house cleaning. A perfect way for her to earn some extra money. A perfect way for us to get the house cleaned.
Terje is working extra hours today and is having dinner with colleagues, but Marta, the maid, would eat with me. She sent me some words on messenger last night "mamma, can we have cod and lefse for dinner?" Lightly salted cod/lettsaltet torsk and lefse is a favorite dish in our family. It came from my grandma Ragna Josefine, my father´s mother.
By the way, when I was in the church today, an old woman came over to me, smiling: "you know Britt-Arnhild that I know your parents. I was invited to their wedding and there I met Ragna Josefine. When I look at you today I see that you look exactly like her ."
I love that!
