These lovely days of autumn. When the garden is thriving, producing a lot more than we can eat, sharing beauty for weeks and months to come.
The colours are different now from the height of summer.
The bumble bees are filling up as best they can.
The air is crisp and I breath deep, deep when I am out gardening.

A memory from our week in Paris.
Terje and I were on our way over to Musée d´Orsay. First time for us, and a wonderful experience. On our way to the museum we walked the bridge over Seine, passing an artist sitting there, painting details from the Louvre building. We had no time to stop, but the coming hours I could not forget all her blues.
When we walked back after our d´Orsay hours, she was still there, now packing up her things.
She stopped to talk with us though, and soon I was the owner of a cute little watercolour.
What I need now is taking the watercolour to the frame workshop.

I was out in the garden when suddenly I heard hundreds of starlings singing. They filled the trees in my neighbour´s garden, they filled the lawns. In between singing they ate a million earthworms.
The starlings are busy now. They eat as much as possible for the long flight ahead, and they gather in groups, bigger and bigger, to migrate together.
They are not ready to leave yet though.......
.......first they want to bring joy to a silver haired gardener.

A day off, and I decided to go birding along the river.
Trondheim is situated at the estuary of the river Nidelven. Further up the river, not far from where we live, there are two diked waterfalls. This area has a very rich bird life.
I did my walk, I took my photos. Most of them quite unsharp but good enough to let me identify the birds when I came home. Among them a "lifer", a grey wagtag, a motacilla cinerea.
On my way back to the car, a man stopped me: "I see that you have binoculars and a Nikon. Are you watching birds?" I told him I was, and suddenly we were deep into a bird talk. This man knew a lot, and I was all open ears.
I think this almost new hobby of mine, birding, is going to take me far.

A bright and sunny first day of September.
A day to celebrate I told myself, and invited my parents out for lunch.
Lunch with a view, down by the fjord.
After eating we decided to go for a walk.
Ladestien, the pathway along the fjord just north of the city, is among the most beautiful places in Trondheim.
Very busy on Saturdays and Sundays, but quiet and serene on a Friday afternoon.
We decided to make this a tradition, may be once in a month.
Friday lunch somewhere.
