I have put a thinking cap on, wondering where to lead my blog. Having just passed 11 years of almost daily blogging, I sometimes wonder if I have said it all. Of course I have not. As God continues to create new days, new life, there is always more to tell, to share, to see, to experience, to feel, to smile, to laugh, to cry.......
I am working on an idea, but need a little time.

Snapchat is growing in popularity here in Norway. You download the app to your smartphone or your tablet, and then you can share photos and/or videos. The pictures can be seen only once, for a few seconds only, never more than 10, and then they are deleted (you can cheat though and take a screenshot ;-))
I have been on snapchat for some time, friends with our kids, and a few friends, but a few months ago I opened another account, this one for my garden only.
In the beginning I snapped only photos, but now I share more and more videos. It is so much fun, a wonderful way to share inspiration.
I would love to add one of the videos here, but I haven´t figured out how to do it. But if you have snapchat, you find me at username: akeleiehagen

The squirrels are always busy in our garden. They love the pinecones, which we have a lot of, and they steal sunflower seeds from the birds. Well, may be not actualy stealing, there are seeds enough for both birds and squirrels.
During the winter months they are much more shy than during summer, and most of the photos I shot are though the (some times dirty) living room window.
A garden is not only flowers and trees. Birds and animals are an essential part of it.

I have mixed feelings about what to blog about today. I am Norwegian, I live in a country who send refugees back, out into the icy cold, back to war, back to religious persecution, back to a future with no hope. I want to shout out to the world, but most of all to the politicians in Norway who are in charge of this inhuman policy. I want to tell them, again, that I am not afraid of losing some of the social benefits I have as a Norwegian citizen. I am ready to share. Share it with my sisters and brothers of the world. I am ashamed of being a Norwegian. I want to hide. I want to.......
.......well, this is not a political blog. The voice I use here is different. I want to share beauty. I want to continue to believe in a world where beauty exist. I need the beauty of creation to maintaining hope.
So I put some warm clothes on an walk out in the winter wonderland outside a hotel somewhere not far from Oslo, where I am spending the weekend.
And I try to fill the air with prayers.
For my Syrian sister. For my Pakistani brother.
For the leaders in Norway, in the rest of the world.
For myself.
Most of all for myself.

It has finally stopped snowing, making the world look like a perfect winter wonderland. This photo shows The House in the Woods from an angle you have not seen before. I took it with my cell phone when I came home from work, walking from the bus stop, over a pedestrian bridge.
Here is another one, from where I walk into our back yard.
The birds are having a hard time. I have garden birds as a theme in several of my blogs for the moment, and also on instagram: @akeleiehagen and on snapchat, username: akaleiehagen. Well, snapchat has more garden snow photos than birds, it is almost impossible to photograph birds on my iPad.
There might be more winter photos the coming days :-)

This morning I went out in the garden to check on the bird feeders. Marta has been filling the feeders while we´ve been away, but she told me they didn´t eat much. It didn´t take me long to find out that the seeds in the feeders were all frozen and would not glide smoothly out of the feeders as they were supposed to do. And the yews, where I have most of the feeders, were so covered in snow, it was impossible to see a thing.
Well, after doing a little "job" it looked much better. I went in and sat down near the livingroom window with my camera. Soon the birds started to come.
First out was a little black and white coal tit.

We are home again, warmly welcomed by the birds in the garden. And what a difference a six hour´s flight makes.
I had to use the car to work today, something I very seldom do. When I came home it was impossible to drive into our driveway as the snow plough had made an edge almost the size the lump we hiked in Tenerife. Luckily one of our neighbours had shoveled his driveway and I could park there until Terje came home to shovel ours.
Here you see my footprints through the carport, into the house. Yes, the carport has a roof, but nature has wind and snow is everywhere.
Marta has fed the birds while we were away, but with all this snow the birds have a hard time finding the seeds.

"Look at that old lady. I can´t say she is shy, can I? I was looking over Terje´s shoulder, smiling. "Well, may be not, but have you seen where we are?" Terje replied back to me. It was only then that I looked around and discovered that the beautiful beach we had found was a nudist beach. For seniors!
Well, we kept our swimsuits on and stayed, sunbathing and swimming. And in the end I even loosened the straps of my swimsuit to let my shoulders get some sun. No, I am not stuffy. Not at all :-)

Another hike today. This time longer and highter.
If this continues, I will be fit as a fiddle :-)
Montana Roja, a volcanic mountain not far from the soutern airport. The start of the walk was through a desert, and I read on an information board that despite of the fry, hot climate, more than 100 different species grew there.
Yes, you got it. My camera had a busy time :-)
