Here I am, back after a few days away from this blog. I am fine.....almost, though first I was in Oslo for two days, then my sinus problems hit with full force. I went to see my doctor yesterday. I got some antibiotics, and a combination of medicine and slow life is working wonders.
Medicine, slow life and my garden I should say.
It is raining today, which does not prevent me from enjoying the garden. The nettles are growing, and today I picked a bowl full, for nettle soup.
I have heard that burning neetles are good for rheumatism, so I always pick them without gloves. My fingers are burning right now, and I feel sure that the burning is a healing thing :-)
Nettle soup is easy to make, it tastes delicious, it is almost free and it is healthy.
Rinse the nettles. Boils in water for a few minutes. Make the soup base from butter, white flour, water from the nettle boiling, some cream, salt, pepper, some bouillon.
Blend the soup and add some dried pepper (I still have a lot left from the peppers I grew last year)
Enjoy.
And thanks for your concern about me being away for a few days. It feels good to be missed.
