Spring has arrived here at the coast. The first days of Easter break are sunny, and as we are at the cabin with Ingrid and Marius and as Ingrid and Marius loves exercies, hiking and nature, we are out every day, exploring new land.
Last summer and into autumn I felt fit. Then I had a quiet period, before La Gomera in January, when Terje and I were out hiking and walking every day. La Gomera is almost three months away. Three months of winter and too little exercise. My winter body is in full need of changing into spring.
Høvikfjellet, the Høvik Mountain, becomes our first goal. We climb this mountian every year, at least once, but never has it felt as hard as this time. Terje, Ingrid and Marta disappear as I fight my way up, up, up, in my own pace. It is not a long hike, but with my winter body it feels hard. Almost too hard.
I am stubborn. I breath hard, I fight my stiff limbs, I am determined to reach the top. And one step following the next, I fight my way upwards.
As I climb I feel my body slowly changing from winter to spring......
.....and being met with these smiles when I reach the top, finally, almost filles my lungs with a summer breeze.
A week at the cabin. Hiking. Walking, Being in motion.
I know I will love my spring body.
