Jane, who is visiting us from California this Christmas, as an artist. At some points she posts pictures of her art on facebook, and it was when I looked though one of her albums I saw the link, or the connection if you want, between Jane´s art and the amazing art of an artist here in Trondheim, Ingun Dahlin. There and then I decided I wanted to take Jane to visit Ingun during their stay, and this morning we did.
After breakfast this morning we went over, and Ingun generously took us on a tour, first through their house, where so much of her art is on display. Then down to the basement where her studio is.
Jane and Ingun had a lot to talk about. I was the blessed listener.
I have known Ingun and her art for many, many years, but I only own one small piece of her art. Today I decided it was full time to do something about that. And as my father in law, before he died just before Christmas, already had transferred some money to our accounts for Christmas presents, I decided it would be a perfect opportunity to spend the money given to me on a very special gift for myself.
As we walked around in Ingun´s family house I felt my head started to spin with ideas I would love to adapt for The House in the Woods.
So, with smiling to myself in the mirror every morning (yes, I remembered to do it first thing this morning......no actually it was second thing, Terje got my first smile) I have now a New Year´s resolution #2:
To give The House in the Woods more artistic touches.
