Torgeir, our oldest son, has always loved numbers, counting, letters, anything with a system. We taught him chess when he was a boy and made him take a chess class, thinking it would be perfect for him. But somehow he didn´t agree with it. Not then. Not until three years ago when he found a chess club here in Trondheim and started to play there. Since then every Thursday night have been sacred. Chess night. And he has read books about chess, studied it through internet and played on his iPad.
These days the Norwegian Championship is Chess is arranged in Trondheim, and Torgeir is one of the participants. Since this is his first championship he is still not ranked and has to play in the lowest group. He had his first match ever yesterday, and lost! His second match was this morning and Terje and went downtown to Clarion Hotel where the championship is, to look.
And today he won :-)
Afterwards all three of us went up on the roof terrace and had lunch.
Enjoyed each other.
And the view.
Good luck tomorrow Torgeir.
