For a week one of the guest rooms in The House in the Woods has hosted Sonia and Fabio, a young Italian couple.
You have met them before here in the blog.
First Sonia when she stayed in Trondheim a few months three years ago, following a course at the Technical University. While trying to learn more about Trondheim, she found my blog, wrote me an email and soon The Blue Café was busy serving pizza to hungry students.
The next year Sonia came back, this time with her boyfriend. They were on a three week´s motorcycle ride from Italy to the North Cape, and spent a night with us on their way back.
In Italy Sonia and Fabio both have busy jobs and for more than a year we heard very little from them. Until a few weeks ago, when an email found its way to my mailbox:
"hi, it is me again, Sonia. Fabio and I have decided to move to Trondheim, and the first week of February we are coming up to apply for jobs and chack the rental market for a place to live"
"Their" room here in The House in the woods was available, I invited them to stay with us, they accepted.......and we´ve had a great week together.
Already the first day Sonia and Fabio proclaimed that they wanted to make us dinner ome night, Italian dinner.
We decided for Friday, coming home to dinner the last day of the week would be perfect, we thought.
And perfect it was.
Home from work, sitting down with a book (me), the paper (Terje) while Italy fragranced from the kitchen, filling the diningroom, the livingroom, the whole House in the Woods, tickling our taste senses.
Then, sitting down with this amazing, young couple. Sharing food and tales, answering a few of their million questions.
Pasta, a fresch salad, dessert.
And afterwards not even having to do the dishes.
Perfect guests.
Wonderful young friends.
