I like to believe that I am brave when it comes to trying new food.
But there are limits, aren´t there :-)
Or?
We left Hong Kong yesterday.
Terje to fly back home to Norway,
I to continue to my "family" in India.
On our way to the airport bus we passed a tiny little shop selling dried fruits and nuts.
And there I spotted it.......
.....dried seahorses.
I am reading a very interesting book for the moment;
Poseidon´s Steed, The Story of Seahorses, from Myth to Reality,
and couldn´t resist buying to dried ones,
though they were more expensive than gold......almost.
When I paied I asked the woman behind the counter, "do you eat them?"
"No no no" she said, "soup, soup!"
Terje took the little plastic bag with two tiny little dried seahorses back home to Norway with him. I hope they make it all the way to Norway. I have no idea what to do with them.
Soup? Well, I am not sure.
We saw some awesome seahorses at Monteray Bay Aquarium this summer.
They really are too beautiful to eat, aren´t they?
Though, take a look at this link
No, I will not eat mine.
I will keep them as a souvenir :-)
