I felt my blog was becoming very quiet, I felt a wish to meet my readers. I blew out a wish for words from you. And what did I get? A wonderful storm.
I love it when the weather show its forces.
Thank you to each and every one of you.
This blog, Britt-Arnhild´s House in the Woods, is what it is because of you.
I put my thinking cap on yesterday. "What cane I give out as a thank you gift to a random blog reader after this?????"
Then the answer came, on facebook. Steve, Cecilia Samartin´s husband, had an e-version of Cecilia´s book Mofongo to give out. Perfect gift. I sent Steve Jane Harsjergen´s email and now the ebook is hers. Perfect for her upcoming travel to Norway.
It is a quiet day here in The House in the Woods today. I have had a crazy period with work and travels for several weeks. This weekend is for slowing down.
I will tidy my studio and sit there with some memory writing. I will wash clothes. Bake a cake. Take a garden walk to check the greenhouse, which is still almost buried in snow. I might start the first seeds. I will water my orchids.
Even though the snow is high, there are the very first signs of spring.
The smell in the air. Did I hear a blackbird? Drip, drip, drip from the roof.
When March has arrived I am always impatient to greet spring. Even though it might be weeks and weeks away from The Blue Garden.
Patience has never been my strenght.
Though I am learning.
Slowly.......
I don´t cycle any more. My elbows protest every time I try.
I did use to cycle a lot though. When I was 21 I cycled from Trondheim to Oslo. 500 kilometers on steep roads. My friend and I spent 6 days on the tour. I was eager to meet Terje. This was back in 1979, it was summer vacation, he had left his student den in Trondheim to spend the summer with his family and I was going there for a few weeks.
We had a big secret. Hidden in a small box, Terje had two golden rings. On July 20th, my parent´s anniversary, we hiked in the forest, and there, under a huge tree, Terje slipped a ring on my finger, I carefully put the other one on his.
