The little boy left home early in the morning. He had heard that something was going on, and he wanted to be part of it. Just before he ran away with his friends, his mother came over with a basket for him, food for the day, five small breads and two fishes.
We all know this story, how Jesus in the end gave food to 5000 men + women and children from what this little boy could provide.
Yesterday we heard it again in Kolstad church, the local church where we belong. Yesterday was the 25th anniversary for Kolstad church. A concecration of a catholic church on Saturday, a 25th birthday party in a Lutheran church yesterday. What a week-end.
The church (though in different places) has been my home since I was born. We don't attend mass every Sunday, but still, most Sundays you find us in a church, some Sundays in Kolstad, some Sundays in the cathedral, some Sundays other places.
The church is where I belong. With my whole life.
Bread for the body, music for the soul, words, prayers, silence for the whole me.
Happy Birthday Kolstad Church
After the service we had a huge birthday party, where Bendik served us his very special party cake
Bendik made a similar cake for his wedding last summer. It is amazing, isn't it?
(By the way, my cake, in progress, can be seen here)
