December 1st and I am ready, finally, to start my own very special advent calendar, my advent basket.
I read from John 1st, 39 today, where some of the diciples ask Jesus where he is living. "Come and see." is the answer He gives. Come and See. I remember as a little girl I subscribed to a christian children's magazine called Kom og se (come and see), Granny, you remember this magazine also, don't you :-) I want to frame my advent 2010 in these three words - Come and See. Jesus is inviting me, and ha has so much to show.
Every night through advent I fill a basket, with one nativity scene, one angel, one Christmas cd, one vintage Christmas magazine (I've collected through a lifetime), one Christmas book, one snowman, one nutcracker, .......and so on. In the morning I "unwrap" the basket, listen to the cd, hang the angel, set the snowman with the others. If you read my old advents posts, through almost six years of blogging, you will find more about my advent basket and my other advent traditions. And if you follow my blog the coming weeks you will of course learn a lot more as well ;-)
Christmas is still several weeks away here in The House in the Woods. Now it is time for Advent.
Come and See!
