There is a small gekko living outside my bedroom. I have a phobia for spiders, gekkos and bats........and really don't like the gekko which is living outside my bedroom. He is the first one to greet me every morning, the last one to say good night in the evening, the gekko living outside my bedroom. He looks at me with eyes like marbles. Still I don't like gekkos, especially not gekkos outside my bedroom. Sometimes he follows me into the bathroom, and my nightmare is that he will also follow me into the bedroom. I open and close the door with more speed than I thought possible, still the gekko living outside my bedroom is of course much faster than me.
I do believe though that my phobia will be cured during my three weeks in India. Today I have been to a bird sanctuary. I love birds and in the sanctuare there were thousands of them. We went out in a boat and came really close. What mostly caught my attention though were the crocodiles.
Yes, I know it looks like I am trying to escape both photogtapher and crocodile here, but believe me, as soon as the photographer got a short lesson in how to focus, we all did good. And when I got my camera back I wanted to pet the crocodile.......
How can I be afraid of spiders and gekkos after this........ Tonight I plan to say good night to my very own gekko, the one which is living outside my bedroom.
By the way - crocodiles were not the only things which fascinated me. We also passed trees filled with bats!
My friend said to me the other night, "There is a gekko living outside your bedroom. It is very friendly and it eats moskitos"
The year I turned 50 will be my year of braveness!

This is a repost from two years ago, from my three weeks in India. I am busy writing on my travel book these days and have my focus there more than on blogging.....
.....and I am rereading all my own travel post......
.....and I am working on my (almost) new travel blog Caffe Avec.....
.....and I am enjoying the postcards which arrives every day now in my mailbox....
....and I am wondering why Britt-Arnhild's House in the Woods gets so few comment these days though the traffic to the site is multiplied.
Then I remember that it is summer and then I remember that my focus is in travel writing, not in blogging.......
