If I had time to blog today, I would write a blog post about eating tomatoes 20 years ago, in the hospital. I would have told you about the nice August in 1989 which lead up to the ripe tomatoes, their sweetness, their shining red, the juice running down from the corners of my mouth when I sucked one tomatoe after another, yes, that's what I would do!
I would write a long post about the August day of 1989 when life was sweet. Life was the start of a wonderful new fairytale. Life was love and laughter. Then I would continue to write about the two young boys who missed their mamma while she was in hospital eating tomatoes. Together with the missing there were alot of smiles and laughter though. Playing and running around. And I would keep on to tell about the first day of school for the oldest boy. Going with his pappa, as his mother was in hospital eating tomatoes.........
But I am busy today, busy celebrating Ingrid's 20th birthday. Busy eating the first ripe tomatoes from The Blue Garden, remembering the loads of fresh, sun ripe tomatoes the woman in the bed next to mine in the hospital got from her family's green house. With our new born babies in small beds near ours, we shared her tomatoes. And we shared motherhood.
