Right across the narrow calle where Mauro has had his glass workshop for years, the one he is moving away from just these days, my eyes caught the most wonderful colours you can imagine. My eyes were drawn there every time we came over to see Mauro, and I couldn't help it - me feet found there way into this small shop in Calle d Mandola again and again. Campo Marzio Design.
Lover of notebooks as I am, even since childhood, this shop, this design, is new to me, but it didn't take me long to get hooked. One huge bright orange notebook, one lovely, lady's size ballpoint pen, bright orange of course, and several black pencils with a small red or orange swarowscky later,I know that I will look for Campo Marzio design again next time I come to Venezia - even though Mauro will not be right across the street any more....... (Calle d. Mandola will not be the same without Glasshandmade.......)
The lady in the shop, Fiorella, speaks a little English, unfortunatey my Italian is very limited, but we came along very well, and when she understood that I was a friend of Mauro I soon become a friend of hers as well, and when I passed her shop during my walks we aways had a little bilangual chat.
I must earn to speak Italian!!!!!
I will use the big, bright, orange notebook for travel stories. May be this will be the start of a travel book?
But I need your help. Among the travel stories here in my blog, which is your favorite?
A little Venezian piece of glass art will be sent to one of the commenters on this!
And another piece of glass art will be sent to one with a good idea for "my upcoming travel book". What do you want me to write about?
