For years I have wanted to plant a cherry tree outside the cabin. "No", Terje says, "there is no use in planting a cherry tree here. Too much rock and the layer of soil is too thin."
"Oh, but please, let us give it a try. I will water the tree roots with my love. And you never know before you give it a try, do you?"
Well, Terje has learned from 29 years of lucky marriage that I never give up, and Saturday we drove over to the island to our favorite nursery to buy a cherry tree.
The first thing Terje did when we came back to the cabin, was to cut down a pine tree which has grown wild exacty where I wanted the cherry tree. Then it was time for planting. The weather gods were on our side. The rain started to pour down as if to let us know that they will take care of our tree.
One day our tree will start giving us sweet cherries. Then I'll ask you for your favorite cherry recipes.
The Norwegian name of cherry tree is kirsebærtre. Doesn't it sound beautiful. I wish I could say it loud to you though the blog page.

Tomorrow I plan to buy a special notebook for my potatoe recipes.
