The week-end in London, which was supposed to be a week-end at Autumn Cottage with Roz, is turning out quite different than planned. I do alot of solo travels and don't mind travelling alone, but this time it was not what I had planned, and it took me some time to adjust. At the airport in Oslo, while waiting for the plane, I took some phones, and with the help of a good travel agent friend ,I got a hotel on such a short notice. Finding the hotel was easy, I left my suitcase and walked out to explore - LONDON, HERE I AM!!!!!
I have been to London quite a few times, since I came here for the first time as a 15 year old language school student. It is nine years since I've been here now, these past years Roma and Venecia have had top priority on my travel list, but I still have the map of London memorized in my head, and it didn't take me long to make a list of what I wanted to see. More of this later, with photos, what I am going to tell about now is that friends are everywhere.
I had just arrived at British Museum around noon yesterday when I got a message on my cell phote. "Hi, we are at Oxford Circus waiting for you, are you coming?" My Norwegian friends Turid and Bjoern (who own a flat in Terracina) are in London for a few weeks. They had sent me a message on facebook yesterday which I never saw, but our cell phones connected us and we ended up spending a lovely day together. Then, late at night, back in my hotel room, with sore, sore feet, the hotel phone rang. "Hello" a nice voice said, "this is Linds from Rocking Chair Reflections". Linds reads my blog, found the name of my hotel, and afraid that I felt lonely in a big city, she phoned! We had a lovely talk. Thank you Linds!

It is Sunday morning here now. I've been to The Round Pound in Kensington Gardens to feed the swans, and now I'll try to find my way out to Kew Gardens.
