In the mornings I drive together with Terje down to his work. Then I have a 30 minutes walk to the Archbishop's Palace where I spend my days. I love these 30 minutes in the morning, 30 minutes in the afternoon. It is my exercice time, my solitude time, my reflection time......my me time.
Today was not a love day though. The snow has continued to fall heavily for almost a week, untill during last night. Then the temperatures crept upwards, rain started to fall and all the snow on the roads and pavements started to melt......with nowhere to run away. From when I left Terje it took me exactly 10 seconds to be wet all though my shoes. Ice water. I walked through deep wet snow, icy water puddles, I was passed by cars who drove too fast, water everywhere. One place the pavement was not ploughed yet and the road was a dark lake. I swam. I tried to phone Terje, as a matter of fact he works for the community and he is in charge of the ploughing!!!!!!!!!, but all he could say was that all available crew was out working.
It is lunch break and my feet are warm again. The shoes are still wet all through. After work today I'll go (read swim) downtown to buy some wellingtons. I've seen some very chic ones in bright, sparkling red. I think I'll go for that.
Photos: from my Sunday walk in the snow. Before the melting started.
