Somewhere along the western coast of Norway there is an old church called The Rose Church. It has got its name because of all the rose painting inside. All walls and the whole of the roof covered in colourful paints.
We passed this church on our way to Hjelle hotel. Driving from our cabin in the morning we were sure to reach Hjelle in time for dinner, in good time for dinner, in very good time for dinner actually. But Terje had forgotten to think of all the stops and detours on the road every time I found something interesting to see.
Who can resist a Rose Church? Well, not me!
We did reach dinner though. The Rose Church was closed for the night when we passed. The detour came next day when we drove the long way back again. I had to see the interiors of the church.
We were not allowed to take photos though, so if you want to see it you must take the detour yourself.
Happy trails.
