During our Vadstena pilgrim walk, we were giving 7 different words. Words for reflections. Words to walk with. Words to live with. Partly we walked alone in silence, partly we walked two or three together in conversation or in more silence. Before arriving at the cathedral we sat down to share some of our reflections.
Among the seven words I ended up with simplicity. And in my reflections I did not dwell upon simplicity as in live simple so that others must simply live. That's an important reflection, yes, but during this walk I couldn't close my eyes to the simplicity in God's Creation. Simple in all its beauty, yet complex beyond imagination.
Like the flowers along the road. How can anything so simple own such beauty. Like the sky, like the birds, the fishes, the animals, your lover, your child, your neighbour, the stranger you meet. Like our breathing. Its simplicity in breating in, a little break, breathing out. Breathing owns both the simplicity and the complexity of Life.
God as Creator, God as Saviour, God as Redeemer. So complex. So simple. So perfect.
