A favorite game I play when I travel is to look at, and into houses, imagining how it would be to live there. To live in the house. To live in the city or village.
Last week I spent a few days at Vadstena in southern Sweden with a group of colleagues, and at early morning hours or free periods during the days, I walked around with my camera, breathing in the place, playing my game.
Believe me, in Vadstena there are several places where I could easily live.I would plant geraniums in my window sills, I would open the windows to smell the roses, I would live with the praying rythm of the Cathedral, the Birgitta monastery and the Pilgrim Center, and I would walk every day along the pilgrim ways.
Every day I would keep the kettle warm, a box filled with cupcakes.
You would be drawn in by the green paint of the house, the smell of coffee and cupcakes and my wish to sith down to share stories of life.
