Yes, I can. Sometimes. But not when it comes in the form of beautiful lavender art, and the scent of my own lavender fills the Blue Garden.
A couple of weeks ago Pinar posted about the making of lavender art in her craftblog, and as soon as I saw her photos and read her words, I knew that this was something I wanted to try. The lavenders were already threatening to take ofer the Blue Garden, all I needed was ribbons in the right colours. "An easy task", I said to myself, "all I have to do is to run down to the possementerie one day after work"
Easy? Yes, the running may be, but to remember to actually do it.......Day after day I came home from work to be met by the butterflyish fragrance, day after day I had forgotten the ribbons.
Day after day, untill yesterday!
I got a phone call from Ingrid. "Mom, shall we meet in town after work? We can go to Somma, our Italian favorite place". It is not for me to say now to such a nice call, and we had a nice moter/daughter afternoon with dolce del fruitta and caffee lattes. In the middle of our chatting I suddenly remembered. My ribbons!
After that everything went smoothly, and late last night my very first attempt of a lavender bottle was ready. Not perfect, but there something about charm and simplicity and........I loved making it, and the garden is still filled with lavender.
