....Fish soup is on top of the list of what we like best in our family. And on top of the list you find the fish soup my 85 year old father in law is making. When Ingrid had her confirmation a few years ago she wanted fish soup as a starter. She tried severals but in the end her conclution was easy; I want grandpa's! And grandpa came up to Trondheim the day before the confirmation well equipped to make soup for the 30 guests.
My brother in Lofoten is a priest, but home from work he loves to cook. His fish soup is also famous and after grandpa's it is a good number two on my list.We were served his soup during our week in Lofoten, but I can have fish soup every day if I am given the choice, so when Terje and I had a sightseeing day just the two of us, guess what we had for lunch? The photo is the soup I enjoyed in Henningsvær.
A friend of mine, Bjørn Amundsen, has written a book he has called Around the World on 80 Fishsoups (Jorda rundt på 80 fiskesupper). There is even a recipe of a Mexican fish soup. I hope I have my own recipe to show you when I am back home.

I let the people at the hotel lead me to a local restaurant at lunchtime yesterday, and guess what I found there? Yes, they had fish soup. Strong and different with two huge pieces of fish and a few clamshells. And delicious!
I would love to hear your fish soup stories.May be you even have a recipe to share?
