Have you ever experienced the feeling that the world has something new and exciting up in its sleeve just for you? I did on Saturday when my Danish friend Preben, on our Copenhagen walk, suddenly stopped outside a flowershop near Kongens Nytorv. The shop looked small and I had no idea what to expect, but a sign telling that you had to pay a fee to visit the shop tickled my appetite.
Inside I found myself in another world. A world filled with creations and pieces of art made by simple items from nature, combined with silver, gold, a little paint here, some brushing and polishing there. Steep stairs, candles and spots, birds singing, a peacock walking around looking curiously at my black Italian pumps. Tage, the owner himself was not present, he was out creating something somewhere, but his assistant was there, and with his dark brown eyes, his black greyishing long curls and his all present friendliness, he painted for us the story of Tage's life and art.
Photographing was not allowed inside the shop, but after buying a book (me) and a few metal flowers (Preben), I was allowed only one. And I tried to close my eye for the three women who never politely asked, but shot photo after photo.
You can visit Tage Andersen at www.tage-andersen.com
________UPDATE________________
The fee is because the shop is not only a shop but also an exhibition of Tage's work. If you buy anything you get the admittance fee back.
I am back home in a feasting garden, so my blogging might be a little slow these days. My BIG garden party is coming up in just three weeks.
