I am excited like a child these days. Several times a day I go down in the basement and open the red cabinet where I have all our advent and Christmas decorations stored. Outside the cabinet the empty advent basket is ready. I emptied it last night from all the bric and brac which gathers during a whole year. I resisted the temptation to fill it then, but tonight, after finishing this post, I don't think I can wait any more. (I always write my blog posts during the evening, and post it the next morning)
There are alot of things that can be done these days though, to prestart some preparations. I have been "deep cleaning" our master bathroom today. The bathroom has been crying out for my attention for quite some time now, I could feel its content sighing after I had finished my cleaning.
Tomorrow morning I will not be met by the usual three roses (too late for roses here now). Instead there is a colourful choir of angels standing on the shelf in front of the mirror, singing a morning paryer.
Another annual early preparation is to move the hyasint bulbs up from a cold room in the basement to a window sill in the diningroom. They will still be dressed in green hats for a couple of weeks, to help their flowers to develop. Three greenhatted bulbs in my window - yes, advent is coming.
