If I was a Silversmith

If I was a silversmith I would make an enameled brochè like this flower. I would wear the brochè daily as a reminder of the beauty of creation.

There are alot of "ifs" in my life. If I let my smile meet my neighbour today, if I let my pen write, if I use my wings....... I welcome them. They are my dreams, they are my motivations, they are my guiding stars.

There are also a few "if only" around.  If only I had more time, if only I was fitter, if only I could do better. The "if onlys" are not welcomed guests. They tend to drain energy out of me, they tend to turn my mind in an unwanted direction. They don't lead me to live my life the way it is meant to be lived.

If I was a silversmith I would make an enameled brochè and wear it every day to display beauty. I am no silversmith. And I will never be a silversmith. I am a wordsmith, and it is for me to develop what I have been given, to forge words. Words to show God's greatness, words to show creation's beauty. Again I pray Santa Birgitta's prayer - God show me the road, and help me to walk it willingly.

I am reposting this post from a couple of months ago. My busy week-end with St.Olav celebrations is finished and I need time to regain some energy. The week-end has been filled with work and impressions, today is a day for sitting down at the blue table to reflect on all the good memories, and to pray with St.Birgitta. (And while I talk about reposting, ie an old post, .....take a look over at Message in a Bottle for a few more ideas)
