What are mothers for? For pampering their daughters of course......
My mother has three sons and one daughter, and she is a master in pampering the one daughter she has (and her sons as well....).
Yesterday was a typical pampering day. We met at Palmehaven for lunch. This elegant restaurant was opened in 1918. My first visit there was to celebrate my parent's silver wedding 25 years ago. I had a two months old baby then. It was my first night away from him and my first visit to such an elegant restaurant. Half of me missed the baby, I was sure he was terrible without his mother. Half of me enjoyed the atmosphere and the food with every fiber.
Today the lunchtable was set for us. We started with delicate "rekesmørbrød" and a pot of fresh brewed tea, and finished the meal with sharing one of Palmehavens tempting sweet bombs, a fruity cream cake.
Well prepared for shopping we went to Zizzi where I never have problems filling a wardrobe. Good thing they have a deep, comfortable armchair where my mother could sit and watch me try on one thing after another, buying one thing after another.
A finishing touch, "the dot over the i" as we say in Norway, was a visit to Hanskemagasinet , a store for gloves and scarves. How could I decide just one colour? (Can you guess which colour I ended up with? A hint can be one of my Venice posts)
The pampering day could end here. But now I had one important thing on my list. It was my time to pamper my mother a little. Her rose win! The most beautiful rose in town for the most beautiful mother in town. Thank you Dear Mama for a lovely day. Next time our mother/daughter day will be my treat. I look forward to it.
