Yesterday was a cold winter's day. The trees filled with snow, just like I remember from childhood winters, the sky was icy blue, a beautiful colour, the birds sang happy dances at the feeder.
I wrapped myself up in a quilt in front of the open hearth, surrounding myself with a mug of hot chocolate, freshbaked and still hot from the oven blueberry muffins, and loads of books. Doing my favourite pasttime - armchairtravelling.
Books can take you anywhere. Yesterday I spent exotic time in Persia with the world's master storyteller Sheherazade, I had a nice cup of tea on the English countryside with The Warden Mr. Harding in Trollope's book from Barchester, I spent some time on Lindisfarne with the Celtic saints together with Ray Simpson and his Daily Reflection, I followed a Biblical track......and I looked over to my bookshelf wondering if I shall take Jane Austen with me to the monastery next week. Okay, it is a lonely retreat, but I don't think Austen will disturb much, will she?
This is my contributions to Sunday Scribling's Fantasy Theme.
