It is the 12th Day of Christmas, Epiphany, the celecration of the three wise men bringing gifts to Jesus.
Traditionally this is the last day of Christmas and it is time to put away the decorations.
My Magi were bought in Prague last summer.
We lit the three armed Epiphany candle and enjoy blueberry muffins for breakfast. Inside one of the muffins I have baked a tiny little figurine. The lucky finder recieves a gift. This is a new tradition in our house, introduced to us by Marie Noëlle in France last year. I adapted it at once, and even do it as a Lental tradition. Then the tiny figurine is a miniature mask from Venice. I am writing a book about Lent and lental traditions in Norway, will finish the writing this month and send it to the publisher. So when I baked the blueberry muffins yesterday I made sure to take a few photos for the book. And here they are for you to enjoy - a bit early.
