I made bread several times during Christmas, but when Terje opened the freezer yesterday morning in search for bread for our breakfast, there was none left....So I realized it was time for The Blue Café to get busy.
During Christmas I've disvovered the most beautiful and yummy food blog, Lucullian Delights. I have spent hours looking through Ilva's old posts and recipes there, and knew immidiately this morning which bread I wanted to make - Focaccia Dolce Con Mandorle. Even the name taste sweet and heavenly, don't you think :-) And tasting the first piece, the bread almost right out of the oven.......oh la la.....I have no other words for it. This bread is going to be a winner in The Blue Café.
Since it was Terje's birthday yesterday, and he and the girls were busy with handball in the afternoon, I decided to make a late dinner. We usually eat dinner aroung 5pm, when we all are home from school and work, so a late dinner always feels like a special feast for us. I made a starter with some local cheese sprinkeled with a sweet raspberry sause and freshened with rosemary leaves - and a piece of the Dolce-bread.
The main dish was cod and lefse, (always a winner around our table) and for dessert I tried another recipe from Ilva's Lucullian delight, Panna Cotta al Caffe......
The Italians really knows how to celebrate the sweet life! And the Lindland family is learning :-)
